What are examples of incongruent technical events in sci-fi movies or TV shows?
What are examples of incongruent technical events in sci-fi movies or TV shows?
For example in Star Trek: Voyager fourth season episodes "Year of Hell" and "Year of Hell, Part II" the character of Annorax drops a see-through pyramid container containing the lock of his wife's hair which shatters into shards upon hitting the ground - as though those living a half-dozen or so centuries ahead have not yet invented strong glass (or plastic).
Glass also breaks in Star Trek: First Contact when Alfre Woodard confronts Picard about his Captain Ahab complex and he smashes his 'rifle' into a display case. (Perhaps the window should break cleanly by sections or some other 'safe' way in the 24th? C.)
